Founders 50

In May 2012 Founders Fund flew 50 extraordinary technologists and entrepreneurs to Lana’i for a conversation about the future.  Among us for the inaugural event informally dubbed “F50” were leading roboticists; ground-breaking computer scientists and software engineers, including one extraordinary hacker who literally saved the internet; cutting-edge technologists working to end to cancer, viral disease, and aging; and young men and women working on groundbreaking technology in almost every important field of science from nuclear physics to rocketry to the human mind.

The chance for brilliant and highly motivated people – including the industry-leading founders and others we brought with to inspire, and gather inspiration from, the 50 – working on the truly difficult problems of our time to pause and think about the world more broadly with their peers is rare.  But such a pause as this is critical to the creative process.

Our hope of  providing a forum for the sharing and catalyzing of ideas was realized in spectacular fashion.
