Techfellow Awards
The TechFellow Awards is a new, annual program backed by Founders Fund and TechCrunch to honor innovators for achievement and excellence in high-tech entrepreneurship.
The inaugural awards were held in June 2009, recognizing excellence in four categories: disruptive innovation; engineering leadership; product design and marketing; and, general management. Visit TechFellow Awards for a full list of 2009's winners and their accomplishments.
Geeks on a Plane
Founders Fund Angel Dave McClure leads groups of entrepreneurs, developers, and investors on tours of financial capitals across the world, introducing them to the nuances of a region's approaches to start-up investing and stakeholders across the region's startup and investor communities. Dave led the first Geeks on a Plane to East Asia in June 2009 and followed up with Geeks on a Plane Europe in September 2009. Additional regions and dates will be announced.
Finance 4 Founders
Finance4Founders is a group of Silicon Valley geeks, entrepreneurs, & investors dedicated to educating and helping the next generation of internet startups around issues of fund raising, option pools, and term sheets. The group meets monthly over dinner to discuss relevant topics in raising capital, working with investors, and compensating great teams. The co-founders of Finance4Founders are Dave McClure & Dan Martell; organizers include Cassie Philips and countless others. Finance4Founders draws inspiration from Startup2Startup, Round Zero, Silicon Forum.
