Robert May is the CFO & COO for Founders Fund and oversees all of the firm's financial and non-investment operations, building on deep prior experience in venture finance and operations.

Before joining Founders Fund, Robert spent four years as CFO of Thomas Weisel Venture Partners, an early-stage technology venture investment firm. Robert joined TWVP after serving as controller at Mohr, Davidow Ventures, an early-stage venture firm with $1.2 billion under management. At Mohr, Davidow, Robert was responsible for fund financing, reporting, portfolio management and communication with limited partners. Robert's first financial experience came at Hewlett-Packard's Integrated Circuit Business Division, where he was a financial analyst. Prior to HP, Robert was a production control analyst for optical data storage manufacturer Drexler Technologies. Robert began his career as a studio guitarist and commercial pilot.

Robert graduated magna cum laude from San Jose State University with a BS in Business Administration, emphasis in Finance. He is a director emeritus of the Private Equity CFO Association (PECFOA), a group of senior financial executives in the PE community.
